Together, all four of us would like to make a lasting impact on our society in Novi. To do this we have visited a plethora of elementary schools in our region and taught them the basics of the German language that can be found on this website. By doing so, the children in school will be far more informed when they make their decision to schoose a language in 8th grade.
HOW WE COMPLETED OUR MISSION
In this slideshow, you will see pictures of us teaching a 4th grade class basic german colors through a game of flyswatter. We also taught the kids how to say hello, my name is..., and goodbye by splitting into 4 groups and taking 10 minutes to learn. After that we all came back into one group and the 4 of us taught the kids colors through a google slideshow. Next, we played a game of flyswatter to enhance the color learning experience. Finally, Scott and Mihir gave the kids a lesson about german culture covering topics such as Oktoberfest
The week after we tuaght the fourth grade class, we went to teach a third grade classs consisting of about 50 kids at the same school. We taught the third graders numbers in German from 1 - 20. We also taught them how to say "hello", "goodbye", and "my name is" in German. After that we played multiple games of bingo to practice. Finally, Scott and Mihir taught the kids a little bit about Oktoberfest ad how schools in Germany work.
